This Week’s Focus: A Virtual Hug
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening—depending on what time you’re reading this. Welcome to the last Mindful Monday of August! I can’t believe I’ve been writing this blog for a whole month now.Â
This week, I don’t really have an exact topic. I’ve been on my cycle this week and if you’re a lady, you know how that gets. Given that my hormones have been all over the place, I’ve been extra sensitive and honestly, just a little sad.
So this week, I’m giving you all a virtual hug and some encouraging words because I know everyone has days where they need just a little bit more love.
I know every day can’t be sunshine and rainbows. Some days are cloudy, and that’s okay.
It’s okay to cry.
It’s okay to feel down without knowing exactly why.
It’s okay to not have the words to explain how you’re feeling.
It’s okay to have a day where you just don’t feel like yourself.
Don’t be so hard on yourself.
You are allowed to feel. You don’t always have to understand your emotions right away, and you don’t have to force yourself to feel better just because you think you should.
Just remember that this day won’t be every day.
These feelings are temporary.
Even the brightest people have bad days. Even the people who seem like they have everything together have moments where they feel overwhelmed, tired, sad, or simply not okay.
But one bad day doesn’t define your life.
So if today is one of those days for you, consider this your sign to slow down a little. Drink some water. Take a deep breath. Put on your favorite show. Listen to that song that always makes you feel something. Take a nap if you need it. Cry if you need to.
And most importantly, give yourself some grace.
You don’t have to fix everything today.
Sometimes getting through the day is enough.
So here’s your virtual hug from me to you. 🤗
Whatever you’re carrying right now, I hope it gets a little lighter. I hope you remember that you are loved, you are cared for, and you don’t have to go through every hard day alone.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Until next Monday, remember:
You are loved.
You are cared for.

You belong here.

💚 This Week’s Check-In
How are you really feeling today?
Not the “I’m good” answer. Not the answer you give because you don’t feel like explaining yourself. Take a moment to actually check in with yourself.
Ask yourself: What emotion have I been feeling the most lately?
What do I think has been contributing to it?
What do I need right now—rest, reassurance, space, connection, or something else?
Remember: You don’t have to have a perfect explanation for how you feel. Sometimes you just need to acknowledge the feeling and give yourself permission to feel it.
This Week’s Affirmation
“I give myself permission to feel. I don’t have to be okay every day, and I don’t have to have everything figured out. My feelings are temporary, and I trust that brighter days are ahead.”
