This Week’s Focus: It Gets BetterÂ
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening—depending on what time you’re reading this.
I was on the phone with my sister earlier, and she gave me some great Mindful Monday inspiration. So this week, I decided to write my very first poem for you all. I hope you enjoy.
It Gets Better
pretty cliché
i know
but it’s something i want you to
remember
remember it
hold on
to the thought
you matter
i know that’s cliché too
but something so simple
is so easily forgotten
when was the last time you were honest?
not with a friend
but yourself
are you okay?
do you feel whole?
is your life joyful?
are you happy to start a new day?
or do you dwell on the past
wishing you could go back?
is it still cliché?
or are we saying that
to hide the feelings
we brush past
or laugh at?
you see, we normalize pain and struggle
and try to look past the rumbles
but it’s only a matter of time
before it thunders
and you know that saying,
when it rains, it storms?
and suddenly
you feel like you’ve gone under
well, i’m here to tell you
it’s not over
the storm will pass
and the skies will clear
little dancing sparkles will appear
take a moment
to admire those times
that lightened the dark
because that’s what sets
the good times
and the hard ones apart.
Until next Monday, remember:
You are loved.
You are cared for.

You belong here.

This Week’s Affirmation 🤍
“I am allowed to have hard days without believing that my whole life is hard. I trust that the storm will pass, and I will give myself grace while it does.”
